Are You Going In Circles

“A double minded man [is] unstable in all his ways”.
James 1:8

It’s a strange question to ask; it is also a question we’ve asked ourselves. As Christians we can seem to be going in circles, by several things, running from God, not following through with responsibilities, not being in the word, not attending church are but a few that comes to mind; The following named man found themselves going in circles, because of rebellion and sin that entered in. Jonah was a prime example running from God, didn’t want to respond to God’s calling, in doing so he went through a lot of un-necessary trails

  • Cain rejected God (Genesis 4:14)
  • Abram lied about his wife (Genesis 12:18-19)
  • David sinned against God (1Sam
  • Job stop listening to God (Job 40:2)
  • Jonah ran from God’s calling (Jonah 1:3)
  • The apostle Paul ran from God (Acts 9:4)
  • Peter denied God (Luke 22:61)

Some of these men paid the price and caused them to go in circles, til they stopped and listen to God’s voice, with the exception of Cain. You may ask yourself, have I become like either of these men? Has God been speaking to me, and have you been listening to God? It is so easy to run and ignore God, because we become afraid that God will ask us to do something so big, and we will not be able to do it. Let’s not fall into the trap that these men have done. Romans 15:4 “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope”
