“What’s your new year’s resolution?”
This is an exciting time, a new year! Many look to the new year as a fresh start or a time to start over, while others are making new year’s resolutions with new ideas and new goals. Maybe someone has asked you, “What’s your new year’s resolution?” That can be a little difficult to answer if we are always breaking promises.
Solomon, the wisest man, wrote three books in the bible. The first book was Songs of Solomon when he was very young. As he matured, he wrote the book of Proverbs and as he got older he wrote Ecclesiastes, known as man’s reasoning.
“So I was great, and increased more than all that were before me in Jerusalem; also my wisdom remained with me. And whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them, I withheld not my heart from joy; for my heart rejoiced in all my labour: and this was my portion of all my labour. Then I looked on all the works that my Hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.” Eccl. 2:9-11 KJV
All that Solomon said when he was young and foolish and nothing that he did was new. Like many of us in the Lord, we were young and foolish with a lot of foolish desires, but as we grew, we understood, and then we matured and realized it’s not about me but it’s all about Jesus and how we can serve Him!
“When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child. I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.” 1 Corinthians 13:11
Let’s not focus on resolution, rather, how can we serve Him better, if there has to be a resolution, lets make it this one...
OUR BEST RESOLUTION FOR THIS YEAR...SERVE HIM BETTER, THAN LAST YEAR!
