CEO of RMI International
As CEO of RMI International, Richard (Rick) Rodriguez Sr. is familiar with the challenges organizations face due to the continuous changes evolving within the security arena. He began his career with the Vivitar Corporation in 1991 as a Project Manager, functioning as liaison between the company and Department of Defense clients, and was responsible for field response during emergency situations. In 1993, he moved to Omega Corporate Security, Inc. where he was assigned as Branch Manager. There, Rick managed branch operations and handled all employee and client relations, while concurrently training as an Executive Protection Specialist. In 1994, he was chosen as part of an elite group of Security Relations Specialists for International Corporate Security Ltd. to oversee operations in Bangkok, Thailand. As Vice President, Rick managed international security relationships with dignitaries from numerous countries throughout South East Asia. He was also responsible for the executive protection of corporate executives and high profile personnel traveling in Thailand, and surrounding countries.
His last assignment in South East Asia was to aid the office of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Interior and the Foreign Trade Office in Thailand with executive protection requirements. Upon returning to the Continental U.S., he was employed as the International Crisis Management Administrator and Executive Protection Specialist for American Honda Motor Co., Inc. During this time, he envisioned a tremendous need for Protection Specialists within large corporations, and subsequently founded RODBAT Management, Inc. (now RMI International) to fill that need.
To date, Rick has served over thirty clients in almost twenty countries on executive protection details, and he has made a name for himself in the private security industry through his unwavering commitment to detail, planning, and execution of comprehensive personnel and asset protection programs. Rick prides himself on being able to locate and motivate security professionals, and leads people with those assets through extensive training and development, detailed direction, and a personal commitment to accomplish his client’s security objectives.
